Labiaplasty and Vaginaplasty

Many women suffer from emotional and physical concerns regarding their female genitalia. We understand that this can be a very sensitive subject that is not easily talked about even amongst friends and partners.

If you are reading this page then you may share some of the concerns above in relation to your own body. Your concerns are a private matter so we would like to offer you as much information as you need to make an informed decision regarding the available procedures.

The 2012-2013 Federal Budget has just been released outlining changes to the Extended Medicare Safety Net.

With this, comes changes to the medical rebate associated with labiaplasty surgery for clients who meet the Medicare criteria. These changes come into effect from the 1st November 2012.

Labiaplasty Minora (labia reduction)

The Labiaplasty procedure is for the removal of excess, floppy, or uneven labia Minora (smaller interior vaginal lips) that can often cause chronic irritation, rubbing, or discomfort during sexual intercourse.

Under the combination of intramuscular injections for pain and local anaesthetic, you will feel no distress. The skilled surgeon will trim off the excess tissue using the fine accuracy of the Ellman Radiofrequency Device that is far more accurate and less damaging to the surrounding tissue than conventional surgical apparatus or even laser.

The aesthetics of the labia are then fastidiously reconstructed using the "Alinsod technique" and the end result is smooth aesthetically shaped functional labia with no visible scarring.

Labiaplasty Majora

Up to 30% of women have excess genital tissue that they are unhappy with.

They may have had the problem since adolescence and been too embarrassed to talk about it. Their mother may even have indicated that it was normal to be "big down there". The problem can also occur due to the effects of childbirth, aging or trauma, resulting in labial enlargement, unevenness, or traumatic tears that can also affect the labia in a way that makes it look unappealing.

This can also result in discomfort with intimate contact, chronic rubbing, a pulling sensation, vulvar pain, and an inability to wear certain types of clothes such as tight jeans or swimsuits. Most women simply live with these symptoms because they are not aware that there are options available to help them. We are here to let you know that help IS available, femininity can be restored!

Vaginoplasty

This aesthetic vaginal surgery aims to tighten lax muscles and tissues and remove excess vaginal skin to narrow the diameter of the vagina resulting in a smaller and tighter opening and vaginal canal.

The tightening is done in for the depth of the vagina where maximal sensation from an erect penis is felt and not merely at the opening only. Dr. Blackstock does more than superficial perineoplasty repairs. This is performed under local anesthetic and is done under mild sedation and local anesthesia.

Dr Blackstock uses the Ellman Surgitron Radiofrequency device to make exceptionally precise and minimally traumatic incisions. Many advertise this procedure for the "Enhancement of Sexual Gratification" as well as a cosmetic procedure but this cannot be guaranteed.

Hymen Repair

The hymen repair procedure involves the reconstruction of the hymen. Cultural, religious, or social reasons are usually why hymen repair surgery is contemplated. Hymenoplasty is performed to make the patient appear virginal. It works for women who have not had vaginal deliveries, and preferably, in those who have never been pregnant. Once a Hymenoplasty has been completed and healed, the act of sexual intercourse can result in bleeding when the hymen is torn or stretched.

Under the combination of intramuscular injections for pain and local anesthetic you will feel no distress. Our skilled surgeon will use the natural remnant of the Hymen or, if required, will reconstruct tissue from the vaginal walls so that there is a barrier of skin with a blood supply that will effectively be a "new" hymen. Once healed the result will be undetectable to inspection and will give the sensation to both partners, maybe including bleeding, at the initial intercourse.

Insight: June 25, 2013

By David Knox on June 24, 2013

Insight this week tackles the delicate subject of 'virginity' discussing everything from a wedding night bed sheet ceremony to hymen reconstructions.

"I know that my hymens have passed inspection in Australia and overseas and not been detected."
- Les Blackstock, cosmetic surgeon

Les Blackstock is proud of his reconstructed hymens. He says women are requesting them for a variety of reasons: because they have had pre-marital sex, they are victims of rape, or they "want to achieve a sense of a clean slate".

He's not the only Australian medical professional getting involved in virginity matters. Dr Wafa Samen, a Sydney-based gynaecologist, issues doctor's certificates in English and in Arabic certifying that a hymen is intact.

The two doctors join this week's Insight program on virginity, which looks at who's holding onto it, who can't wait to get rid of it, and who's trying to hide the fact that they do (or don't) have it any more.

Guests include:

Inez Manu-Sione
The day after Inez Manu-Sione's wedding night, she presented the bed sheet to her extended family so they could all inspect it for blood. Although she grew up in Australia, Inez is Tongan and the bed sheet ceremony is a part of her family's cultural tradition. At first, Inez was reluctant to agree to the ceremony, thinking it was "barbaric". But eventually she agreed to do it "to really honour my mum".

Rose Russo
Rose Russo had been having sex with other women for many years but still felt like she was a virgin as she hadn't slept with a man. At 22, with the permission of her long-term girlfriend, she hired a male sex worker. "Interesting, expensive, not really worth it" is how she describes the experience.

Nathan McGuire & Bek Stubbs
When Nathan McGuire and Bek Stubbs first had sex, Nathan was keeping a secret. Nathan, then 18 years old, was a virgin but told Bek that he'd previously had sex because he was worried Bek would think he was inexperienced and naive. Nathan says amongst his mates, "losing your V-plates" was almost a competition.

Les Blackstock
Dr Les Blackstock performs hymen restorations. He says his clients request it because they have had pre-marital sex, they are victims of rape, or they "want to achieve a sense of a clean slate". He says it's impossible to tell if a hymen has been surgically restored. "I know that my hymens have passed inspection in Australia and overseas and not been detected." He says he won't do a hymen restoration if he thinks a woman has been forced into it.

Dr Wafa Samen
Dr Wafa Samen is an obstetrician and a gynaecologist based in Sydney. She provides some of her patients with doctor's certificates stating that their hymens are intact. She says she receives such requests from brides who need to prove their virginity to their future husbands and in-laws, brides who didn't bleed as expected on their wedding nights, or young women who are worried that they may have damaged their hymen while doing other physical activity.

G-spot Enhancement

G-Spot enhancement is available for those that desire to increase the potential pleasure of their sexual experience.

The process of "G" Spot enhancement is the application of a commonly used product, known as a dermal "filler" that has a long and safe history of application.

The dermal filler is thus injected into the G-spot area, creating a volumising effect, whereby the G-spot is slightly more pronounced and the nerves are more exposed and therefore easier to stimulate.

Below is an audio of Dr Les blackstock talking on the Triple J radio station about the importance of the G-Spot
