Acne is a disease which requires both a short term and a long term treatment to get it under control. The classic treatment for acne is usually a combination of Retinoids, Desquamifying agents and antibiotics. If all else fails, then Roaccutane is used. Although this drug is beneficial, it has ridged restrictions on its prescribing and, because of its high side effect profile, it is not for everyone.
There are several treatments for Acne. These include, procedures that will quickly get the large pustule settled for that important event; medical therapies, which have been clinically proven to work but take time to do so; Photo Dynamic Therapies (the application of topical medication that reacts with strong light to induce a reaction in the skin which treats the causes of acne) if you don't want to take medication and skin peels that improve the past acne damage.
There are a range of methods to repair the damage to the skin that occurs with age and sun exposure. Broadly, there are two groups: 1. Skin Peels to allow the stem cells to regrow skin and allow for reduction on the pigment problems and the texture of the skin. 2. Deep skin treatments with either physical or thermal/laser injuries to promote the skin to form collagen in order to tighten it. We would suggest that the various levels of peeling will give a better cost effective result and suggest you consult our doctor to see if you are a suitable candidate. There are new methods using either photodynamic treatment or a combination of light therapy and the radiofrequency to permanently change the sebaceum cycle and kill unwanted bacteria.
Also, the Accent PIXEL RF fractional skin resurfacing system can very effectively treat acne and chicken pox scars and repair general sun damage through the benefits of fractional therapy, causing skin tightening and a resurgence of collagen production.
